The main purpose of “Thy Word is Truth” is to provide a platform where believers in historic Biblical Christianity can contend earnestly for the faith (with gentleness and respect) which was once for all handed down to the saints (Jude 1:3). To define this truth I have listed the major beliefs or doctrines of the historic, Christian faith. This list answers many of the questions/ objections that arise when dialoguing either with unbelievers or those involved in a non-Christian religious belief system (i.e. cult). Every believer must be ready to give an answer and a reason for the hope that lies within them with gentleness and respect. We are commanded in Scripture to tests all things and hold fast to the good. These essential truths provide a great foundation for those who seek to define and understand the basic beliefs of Christianity as represented in the Old and New Testaments. They also provide great hope and assurance of faith to present believers in Christ.
